Out with the old, in with the new. After removing the original tile, we uncovered significant water damage caused by an improperly sealed glass block window. The insulation was removed, and the affected studs and window framing were repaired before
Out with the old, in with the new. After removing the original tile, we uncovered significant water damage caused by an improperly sealed glass block window. The insulation was removed, and the affected studs and window framing were repaired before moving forward. A new glass block window was properly installed and sealed, the walls were re-insulated with Rockwool, and a new mixing valve was soldered in. The shower was then rebuilt using GoBoard, finished with 5×5 tile, and detailed with Schluter valve and pipe seals for a fully waterproof system from the framing out.
